About Internship

Senior Scientist, Department of Biomedical Informatics, from Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR New Delhi), is accepting interns interested in the field of Computer Science, in the research area of Computational Science.

We are seeking highly motivated Computer Science interns to join our interdisciplinary team to develop a state-of-the-art software platform for analyzing and predicting Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) trends. This initiative aims to harness the power of Python and the latest Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) tools to revolutionize the surveillance, analysis, and understanding of AMR. The interns will be involved in creating a robust software system designed to manage, analyze, and predict AMR patterns using large-scale microbiology laboratory data. The software will integrate advanced data analysis techniques, predictive modeling, and interactive visualization tools to provide real-time insights into AMR trends. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement data management modules using Python to handle large volumes of microbiology test results and associated metadata. Apply AI and ML algorithms for predictive analysis of AMR trends, resistance hotspots, and emerging threats. Design user-friendly interfaces for data input, analysis, and reporting, ensuring accessibility to users with varying levels of technical expertise. Validate software performance and accuracy through rigorous testing with real-world data. Document the development process and prepare materials for training end-users. Learning Opportunities: Gain hands-on experience in applying Python, AI, and ML to real-world public health challenges. Work at the intersection of computer science, biology, and public health, gaining interdisciplinary skills. Contribute to a project with significant global health impact, potentially shaping policies and practices in AMR surveillance and control.
