About Internship

Scientist B, Department of Geophysics , from Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, Dehradun, is accepting interns interested in the field of Geophysics, in the research area of Exploration Geophysics.

This 6–8 month internship focuses on geological feature identification from industrial-grade seismic data using both traditional signal processing and AI-based approaches. Open to undergraduate and postgraduate students, the role involves working with real-world seismic datasets to perform data preprocessing, apply signal processing techniques, and implement machine learning models for feature recognition. Interns will analyze and compare traditional and AI-driven methodologies while documenting their workflows and results. Proficiency in MATLAB and Python, along with a solid understanding of signal processing and/or machine learning, is essential. The internship offers a collaborative research environment where students can contribute to innovative solutions in geophysical data analysis.
