Assistant Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, from INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY KHARAGPUR, is accepting interns interested in the field of Chemical Engineering, in the research area of Catalysis and Reaction Engineering.

This internship offers hands-on research experience in the innovative field of materials science, specifically targeting applications in energy conversion, storage, and environmental sustainability. The selected intern will join an interdisciplinary research team working on the design, synthesis, and characterization of advanced materials with tailored properties for specific functional applications. Key focus areas may include the development of nanostructured catalysts for clean energy production, electrode materials for next-generation batteries, or porous materials for gas capture and water purification. The intern will be involved in both experimental and computational aspects of material design, depending on project needs and background. Responsibilities will include literature review, preparation and processing of materials, analysis using techniques such as XRD, SEM, TEM, and spectroscopy, as well as performance testing under relevant conditions. The internship provides an excellent opportunity to learn state-of-the-art research methodologies while contributing to high-impact projects that address global challenges in energy and the environment. Mentorship from experienced researchers and regular group meetings will support the intern’s professional development.
