About Internship

Assistant Professor from Christ University, Bengaluru, is accepting candidates interested in the field of Sociology, in the research area of Women, Feminism and Gender Issues .

This sociological research opportunity focuses on the critical intersection of labor dynamics and gender issues within contemporary society. The project moves beyond broad historical frameworks to analyze the modern Sociology of Work through a rigorous, multi-layered intersectional lens examining how gender identity, socioeconomic class, race, and regional structures interact within modern workplaces and informal labor economies. Researchers will engage with contemporary niche areas in gender theory, investigating systemic occupational disparities, the changing landscape of remote/gig labor, and the socio-political barriers affecting women in various industrial and institutional sectors. Roles & Responsibilities: 1. Conduct advanced qualitative literature reviews and theoretical mappings of contemporary niche areas within intersectional feminism, gender theory, and labor sociology. 2. Analyze qualitative and quantitative labor data, assessing trends related to the gender pay gap, occupational segregation, emotional labor, and the division of uncompensated domestic work. 3. Assist in designing sociological research instruments, including structured interview guides, focus group protocols, and thematic codebooks for field data collection. 4. Build detailed sociological case studies examining how rapid shifts in work environments (e.g., the platform economy, remote work mandates, or automation) uniquely impact diverse gender demographics. 5. Synthesize complex sociological data into highly structured research papers, literature surveys, and policy recommendations targeting gender-focused journals and academic conferences.
