About Internship

This internship provides exposure to zoological museum practices related to the collection, preservation, cataloguing, curation, and interpretation of specimens. Interns will learn about museum ethics, documentation standards, and the role of zoological collections in education, taxonomy, and biodiversity research. The internship includes guided learning through readings, virtual demonstrations, documentation exercises, and a small research or review-based task. Interns will work on virtual catalogues, specimen labelling, digital records, and gain an introduction to digital museum practices such as virtual exhibitions and online specimen repositories. Interns will gain exposure to specimen-based zoology, museum documentation practices, and basic research work related to zoological collections. Key Responsibilities will include: 1. Studying principles of zoological museum practices and ethics 2. Learning specimen types, preservation methods, and documentation standards 3. Preparing virtual catalogues, labels, and digital records 4. Completing assigned readings and a small research or review task
