The project integrates microbiology, behavioral science, and artificial intelligence to assess how excessive internet use correlates with changes in gut microbial diversity and key bacterial taxa. Interns will work on data-driven analysis to explore associations between screen time, sleep disturbances, stress indicators, and gut microbiome patterns, contributing to interdisciplinary research at the intersection of health, behavior, and computational biology. Key Responsibilities 1. Assist in assessing the prevalence and severity of internet addiction using standardized assessment tools 2. Support data collection related to screen time, sleep patterns, stress indicators, and lifestyle factors 3. Participate in comparative analysis of gut microbiome diversity between addicted and non-addicted groups 4. Assist in organizing, preprocessing, and interpreting microbiome and behavioral datasets 5. Support the application of AI and basic statistical techniques for pattern identification and correlation analysis 6. Contribute to literature review, documentation, and preparation of research summaries or reports Learning Outcomes 1. Gain an understanding of the gut–brain axis and its relevance to behavioral health 2. Learn fundamental concepts of microbiome analysis and microbial diversity assessment 3. Develop exposure to the application of artificial intelligence in biological and health-related research 4. Build skills in interdisciplinary data analysis combining microbiology, psychology, and AI 5. Enhance research documentation, critical thinking, and scientific communication skills
