This research internship focuses on the socio-economic dynamics of the migrant workforce, a critical pillar of modern labor markets. The program investigates the challenges, wage structures, and mobility patterns of displaced or migrating labor populations. By combining primary field research with large-scale secondary data analysis, interns will help uncover the economic impact of migration on both source and host regions. This role is specifically designed for students aiming for a career in academia or policy research, offering a direct pathway toward contributing to a peer-reviewed publication. Roles and Responsibilities : 1. Lead and conduct field surveys interacting directly with the migrant workforce to gather high-quality, ground-level data. 2. Aggregate and audit datasets from reliable institutional sources (such as census data, labor bureau reports, or NGO archives). 3. Assist in the statistical interpretation of gathered data to identify trends in employment, wage gaps, and social security access. 4. Contribute to the drafting of formal research reports and the "Literature Review" and "Methodology" sections of a research paper. 5. Collaborate with the lead researcher to refine the manuscript for submission to reputed academic journals. Learning Outcomes : 1. Develop essential skills in survey design and human-centric data collection within complex labor environments. 2. Gain the ability to merge primary qualitative insights with quantitative secondary data for robust economic analysis. 3. Develop a specialized understanding of the economic theories surrounding migration, labor elasticity, and informal sector dynamics. 4.
