This internship introduces students to the exciting field of research chemistry, focusing on how scientists can learn from nature to design better chemical reactions. Students will explore how catalysts can be used to carry out important reactions such as oxidation and epoxidation, which are widely used in chemical synthesis. The internship will also introduce the concept of using carbon dioxide (CO?) to produce useful chemicals such as carbonates, connecting chemistry with sustainability and environmental challenges. Through guided research activities, students will gain an understanding of chemical reactions, catalysis, laboratory practices, scientific problem-solving, and the role of chemistry in developing more sustainable technologies.
