This internship focuses on the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques for smartphone-based sensing systems in health and environmental monitoring. The intern contributes to experimental, computational, and documentation-based research activities under guided supervision. Key responsibilities include: 1. Assisting in data collection and preprocessing for colorimetric sensing experiments. 2. Supporting the development, training, and testing of AI/ML models, including basic convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for image-based analysis. 3. Performing smartphone-based image acquisition and annotation following controlled experimental protocols. 4. Conducting literature surveys and comparative studies of existing sensing and image-analysis techniques. 5. Contributing to result interpretation, report writing, and presentation preparation. 6. Participating in weekly online review meetings and progress discussions with the research team. Learning Outcomes: 1. Hands-on exposure to AI-driven sensing and computer vision applications. 2. Practical experience with CNN-based image analysis and experimental data handling. 3. Understanding of interdisciplinary applications of AI in healthcare and environmental monitoring.
