About Internship

Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, from Selvam College of Technology, is accepting interns interested in the field of Electrical Engineering, in the research area of Electrical Vehicles.

The selected interns will have the opportunity to contribute to a cutting?edge research project focused on the design and optimization of battery management systems (BMS) for electric vehicles. As electric transportation grows, ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of batteries has become critical for reducing carbon emissions and tackling global warming. In this internship, interns will explore key BMS challenges such as over?charging, over?discharging, thermal runaway, and cell balancing. They will investigate how selecting and optimizing balancing resistors can extend battery life and performance. To do this, interns will use machine learning (ML) techniques to evaluate and predict the effects of different design and operational conditions — such as degree of cell imbalance, charging rate (C?rate), and thermal behavior — on the overall efficiency and safety of the BMS. Through this experience, interns will gain hands?on exposure to machine learning applications in engineering, deepen their understanding of battery design, and contribute to the development of safer, more sustainable electric vehicles.
