Associate Professor from Selvam College of Technology, Tamil Nadu, is accepting interns interested in the field of Electrical Engineering, in the research area of Electrical Vehicles.
This internship focuses on a research project related to the design and optimisation of battery management systems (BMS) for electric vehicles. The work addresses the importance of battery safety, efficiency, and reliability in the context of electric transportation. Interns will explore key BMS challenges such as over-charging, over-discharging, thermal runaway, and cell balancing. The project involves examining how balancing resistor selection and optimisation can improve battery life and performance. Interns will also use machine learning techniques to study how factors such as cell imbalance, charging rate (C-rate), and thermal behaviour affect the overall efficiency and safety of battery management systems. Interns will gain hands-on exposure to machine learning applications in engineering and develop an understanding of battery management system design in electric vehicle applications.
