Associate Professor, Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering, from Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Goa, is accepting interns interested in the field of Electronics Engineering, in the research area of Communication Engineering.
Integrating Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites with terrestrial networks promises low-latency, high-availability connectivity, particularly for remote areas. However, this hybrid system faces challenges in resource allocation due to dynamic NGSO orbits and fluctuating conditions. Key research areas include bandwidth management, power optimization, and seamless handover coordination. The internship will focus on: 1. Developing a resource optimization framework for NGSO and terrestrial systems. 2. Analyzing centralized vs. decentralized resource allocation algorithms. 3. Simulating real-time NGSO-terrestrial networks. 4. Creating optimized handover solutions. Intern responsibilities include 1. Conducting a literature review 2. Developing system models in MATLAB 3. Designing optimization algorithms, and 4. Testing them through simulations.
