Assistant Professor from Lovely Professional University, India, is accepting interns interested in the field of Chemistry, in the research area of Pharmaceutical Chemistry .
This internship focuses on the computational investigation of drug candidates for neglected topical diseases using in-silico methodologies. Interns will be involved in molecular docking studies to evaluate ligand–target interactions, analyze binding affinities, and interpret structure–activity relationships. The work includes preparation of protein and ligand structures, validation of docking protocols, and comparative analysis of results using standard computational chemistry tools. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the role of computational approaches in early-stage drug discovery and supporting research documentation and reporting. Key Responsibilities Include: 1. Performing in-silico molecular docking studies to evaluate interactions between drug candidates and target proteins related to neglected topical diseases. 2. Preparing and optimizing ligand and protein structures using standard computational chemistry protocols. 3. Analyzing binding affinities, docking scores, and interaction profiles to identify promising lead compounds. 4. Conducting comparative studies of docked molecules to understand structure–activity relationships. 5. Assisting in literature review related to computational drug discovery and neglected diseases. 6. Maintaining proper documentation of methods, results, and interpretations. 7. Supporting the preparation of research reports, figures, and summaries under academic supervision. Upon completion of the internship, the intern will be able to: 1. Understand the principles of computational drug discovery and its role in pharmaceutical chemistry. 2. Gain hands-on experience in molecular docking and in-silico analysis techniques. 3. Develop the ability to interpret docking results and correlate them with biological relevance. 4. Acquire practical skills in structure–activity relationship (SAR) analysis. 5. Enhance competence in scientific literature review and research documentation. 5. Build foundational knowledge applicable to drug design, medicinal chemistry, and bioinformatics research.
