Professor from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada (JNTU Kakinada), is accepting interns interested in the field of Computer Science Engineering, in the research area of Cyber Security.

This Assistantship focuses on the architectural backbone of AI-Driven Threat Detection. This project moves beyond theoretical modeling into the practical world of Security Engineering, where candidates build and manage the environments that host autonomous agents. By integrating Linux systems administration, real-time log monitoring, and backend development, the assistant will create a robust framework for detecting, correlating, and visualizing cyber incidents. This role is a deep dive into the "Cyber Incident Lifecycle," offering hands-on experience in how modern defense systems ingest and process threat intelligence. Duration of the project is 6 month but can be extended upto 12 months depending on requirements Minimum Qualifications: 1. B.Tech / B.E. / MCA / M.Sc. in CSE, IT, Cyber Security, or Data Science (Min. 60% / equivalent CGPA). 2. Strong knowledge of Python and proficiency in at least one technical pillar (Systems, Networking, or Development). Roles & Responsibilities: 1. Configure and maintain Linux-based servers, managing user access, security policies, and core networking protocols including TCP/IP, firewalls, and VPNs. 2. Utilize and manage active monitoring tools such as Wireshark, Snort, and the ELK stack for real-time intrusion detection and event correlation. 3. Build and debug system logic using Python and Java/JavaScript, integrating REST APIs and backend frameworks to support autonomous detection modules. 4. Handle complex data ingestion pipelines using MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB, and process raw log files into structured datasets for analysis. 5. Design and develop web-based dashboards using React, Angular, Flask, or Django to visualize security telemetry and incident reports.
