About Internship

Assistant Professor, Department of Department of Basic Sciences (Physics), from Manipur Technical University, is accepting interns interested in the field of Earth Planetary Sciences, in the research area of Climate of planets.

This 15-week internship provides hands-on training in polar ice research through the use of satellite remote sensing data. Designed for undergraduate and graduate students in physics, mathematics, geosciences, remote sensing, or related fields, the program includes 120 hours of guided learning (8 hours per week). Interns will gain a foundational understanding of polar ice dynamics, learn satellite data processing techniques, and develop skills in programming (Python, R, or MATLAB) and scientific software tools. The internship emphasizes practical application through a mini-research project using real satellite data, with outcomes including a final presentation or report. Key Outcomes: 1. Grasp principles of remote sensing and polar climatology 2. Analyze and visualize satellite data effectively 3. Conduct independent research 4. Communicate scientific findings clearly 5. Understand real-world challenges in Earth observation
