Founder from Lifeskills Organization on Values and Empathy, is accepting candidates interested in the field of Computer Science Engineering, in the research area of VLSI Algorithms.
This research internship focuses on the core mathematical, algorithmic, and computational techniques used in VLSI Physical Design Automation. The researcher will focus on solving high-complexity optimization problems across partitioning, floorplanning, and placement stages. This role balances intensive theoretical literature surveys of IEEE/ACM papers with the development and optimization of routing and placement algorithms, serving as an training ground for careers in the semiconductor industry or advanced MS/PhD research tracks. Roles & Responsibilities: 1. Deeply analyze and optimize computational frameworks for partitioning, floorplanning, placement, and routing within the electronic design automation pipeline. 2. Apply and develop advanced optimization methods (e.g., simulated annealing, genetic algorithms, linear programming, or graph-partitioning techniques) to minimize wire length, power consumption, and clock skew. 3. IEEE/ACM Literature Synthesis: Conduct comprehensive literature surveys on recent advancements in VLSI CAD algorithms, identifying critical research gaps in high-quality journal publications. 4. Design, implement, and benchmark physical design algorithm variants against real-world semiconductor case studies and established EDA workloads. 5. Draft comprehensive research summaries, detailed technical reports, and assist in compiling structured manuscripts for upcoming IEEE/ACM conferences and semiconductor journals. 6. Participate in technical brainstorming sessions, maintain rigorous research ethics (zero-plagiarism standards), and deliver structured weekly progress updates to mentors.
