About Internship

Assistant Professor from Jain University, Bangalore, is accepting interns interested in the field of Biotechnology, in the research area of Molecular biology.

This internship provides hands-on exposure to essential molecular biology and microbiology techniques commonly used in research and biotechnology industries. Interns will work on laboratory-based projects involving microbial isolation, DNA extraction, amplification techniques, and environmental parameter analysis. The internship is designed to strengthen fundamental wet-lab skills while helping interns understand real-world applications of molecular biology in diagnostics, research, and bioprocessing. During the internship period, interns will participate in activities such as: 1. Isolation of microorganisms from environmental or laboratory samples. 2. DNA isolation and purification, learning how genetic material is extracted for downstream applications. 3. Performing Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) to amplify specific DNA sequences and understand gene-level analysis. 4. BOD and COD analysis, gaining exposure to environmental biotechnology techniques used to assess water quality and microbial activity. 5. Maintaining lab notebooks, preparing sample reports, and documenting experimental outcomes. 6. Working under the guidance of faculty/research mentors to understand experimental workflows and troubleshoot results. By the end of the internship, interns will develop: 1. Practical laboratory skills in core molecular biology and microbiology techniques. 2. Understanding of experimental design, data interpretation, and result validation. 3. Experience relevant to biotechnology, genetic engineering, microbiology, and environmental analysis. This internship is open to students from biotechnology, molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, life sciences, and environmental biotechnology backgrounds, as well as those pursuing related biological science programs.
