Assistant Professor from CHARUSAT university , is accepting candidates interested in the field of Computer Science Engineering, in the research area of Embedded systems.
This internship focuses on the development of two affordable soil-testing solutions for Indian farmers: STRIP, a colorimetric paper-strip kit interpreted through a companion mobile application, and STICK, a Raspberry Pi Pico-based electronic probe designed to measure soil moisture, pH, and NPK/zinc concentrations. By addressing the high cost and limited accessibility of conventional laboratory soil testing, the project aims to enable more accurate fertilizer application, reduce input costs, and promote sustainable soil health through accessible precision agriculture technologies. Depending on their interests and technical background, interns will contribute to one or more aspects of the project, including calibrating and validating the STICK sensor suite against laboratory reference measurements, developing image-processing algorithms for interpreting STRIP results, designing data collection protocols and pipelines for on-farm field trials, and conducting comparative analyses of cost and accuracy against conventional laboratory testing methods. Working at the intersection of embedded systems, applied data science, and agricultural technology, interns will receive direct mentorship from the venture's founder while helping advance both STRIP and STICK from validated prototypes to field-ready solutions.
