This research opportunity focuses on the foundational mathematical and computational principles driving Natural Language Processing. Rather than simply applying pre-built APIs or commercial models, this role emphasizes core computer science theory and mathematical formulation. The position requires a dedicated daily commitment of approximately 4 hours, allowing researchers to deeply engage with algorithmic design, optimization landscapes, and linguistic structures from anywhere in the world. Roles & Responsibilities: 1. Formulate and evaluate mathematical frameworks to optimize neural architecture designs, language embedding structures, or optimization functions. 2. Code, benchmark, and analyze foundational NLP pipelines, focusing on efficiency, text representations, or algorithmic limitations. 3. Review and dissect advanced theoretical literature in computer science and applied mathematics to identify novel research pathways. 4. Conduct independent computational experiments, maintain reliable remote workflows, and participate in virtual tracking reviews. 5. Maintain structured research logs, document mathematical proofs or codebases cleanly, and draft technical summaries of daily experimental results.
