Assistant Professor from Indian Institute of Technology, Patna (IIT Patna), is accepting candidates interested in the field of Mechanical Engineering, in the research area of Fluid Mechanics and Flow Physics.
This Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position sits at the intersection of precision engineering and cellular biology. The project focuses on designing, fabricating, and validating innovative microfluidic and biomedical diagnostic platforms, alongside synthesizing targeted microparticles for therapeutic delivery. Candidates will manage micro-scale fluid dynamics to observe and manipulate biological systems at the cellular level. This fellowship is structured as a high-growth pathway, with a formal provision to transition the fellowship into a full-scale PhD program based on research milestones and performance evaluations. Roles & Responsibilities: 1. Design and cleanroom-fabricate microfluidic devices and biomedical platforms utilizing soft lithography techniques (e.g., PDMS molding). 2. Synthesize, structurally characterize, and functionalize engineered microparticles intended for targeted biomarker detection and therapeutic payload delivery. 3. Maintain and propagate mammalian cell lines, executing in vitro biological assays directly inside microfluidic architectures. 4. Conduct advanced fluorescence microscopy and optical imaging sessions to capture real-time cellular interactions, morphologic shifts, and biomarker signals. 5. Process complex multi-parametric datasets, generate statistical plots, and draft publication-grade technical manuscripts and progress reports. 6. Lead laboratory procurement efforts, document standard operating procedures (SOPs), and ensure rigorous adherence to institutional biosafety guidelines.
