About Internship

Assistant Professor, Department of Geography , from Chatra Ramai Pandit Mahavidyalaya (Bankura University), is accepting interns interested in the field of Earth Planetary Sciences, in the research area of Physical Geography.

This internship offers an opportunity to explore the practical applications of geography in addressing contemporary global challenges such as urban expansion, climate change, environmental degradation, and agricultural efficiency. Interns will gain exposure to advanced geospatial tools, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, and spatial modeling. Through interdisciplinary engagement, the internship emphasizes evidence-based decision-making, sustainable development, and integration of spatial analysis into policy, planning, and environmental management. Participants will learn how applied geography contributes to diverse sectors such as: 1. Urban and Regional Planning: Smart city design, infrastructure planning, zoning, and land-use analysis. 2. Environmental Management: Monitoring of deforestation, pollution, and biodiversity; disaster risk assessment. 3. Agriculture: Precision farming, crop monitoring, and soil health evaluation using GPS and satellite data.
