About Internship

Senior Assistant Professor from Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU), Pune, is accepting interns interested in the field of Computer Science Engineering, in the research area of Data Analytics.

This internship offers students an opportunity to explore how digital analytics and crowdsourced data can be used to understand public awareness, engagement, and knowledge about UNESCO World Heritage Sites in India. The project aims to analyze how widely these heritage sites are recognised, how people interact with them online, and what digital patterns reveal about cultural awareness across different regions. During the internship, selected interns will work on activities such as collecting crowdsourced data, designing and distributing surveys, conducting field-based interactions (online or offline), documenting responses, and helping build datasets for analysis. Interns will support digital outreach, coordinate participant engagement, and contribute to preliminary analytics using tools like Google Forms, Sheets, basic statistical analysis, and simple visualisation methods. The duration of this internship is 6 months but it can be extended upto 8 months. By the end of the internship, students will develop: 1. Hands-on experience in crowdsourcing, survey design, and digital data collection. 2. Practical skills in basic data analytics, visualisation, and interpretation. 3. Understanding of public engagement strategies and digital outreach processes. 4. Exposure to interdisciplinary research combining data science, cultural studies, and digital humanities. 5. Experience in field interaction, communication, and stakeholder engagement. 6. Enhanced research documentation, report-writing, and analytical thinking abilities. Students from Data Science, Computer Science, Digital Humanities, Sociology, Anthropology, Geography, Cultural Studies, Tourism Studies, Public Policy, Media Studies, or any discipline with an interest in digital analytics, crowdsourcing, or cultural heritage research can apply.
