Associate Professor from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhopal (AIIMS Bhopal), is accepting interns interested in the field of English Literature, in the research area of Medical Humanities.

This internship examines the intersection of literary studies and the lived experience of illness, care, and medical practice. Interns will engage in the analysis of how literature articulates the patient’s perspective. The duration of this internship is six months, with the possibility of extension up to twelve months depending on project requirements. Roles and Responsibilities: 1. Assist in drafting and structuring sections of a formal research article, ensuring coherence from introduction to conclusion. 2. Manage bibliographic data and ensure adherence to academic citation styles (MLA, APA, etc.). 3. Perform close readings of selected texts to identify key metaphors and narrative structures that shape representations of the illness experience. 4. Provide critical feedback and proofreading to enhance clarity and academic rigor. Learning Outcomes: 1. Gain direct experience in the lifecycle of academic publishing, from initial literature survey to final manuscript submission. 2. Develop a sophisticated understanding of how the humanities can inform and improve medical ethics and patient communication. 3. Gain ability to synthesize complex theoretical frameworks (like Postcolonialism or Disability Studies) with primary literary texts.
