Associate Professor from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhopal (AIIMS Bhopal), is accepting interns interested in the field of English Literature, in the research area of Indian Writing in English.

This internship explores the vital intersection between literary studies and the lived experience of illness, care, and the medical system. Interns will engage in analysis of how literature gives a voice to the patient’s perspective. The duration of this internship is six months but it can be extended upto twelve months depending on the requirements of the project. Roles and Responsibilities: 1. Assist in drafting and organizing sections of a formal research article, ensuring a logical flow from introduction to conclusion. 2. Manage bibliographic data and ensure all references adhere to specific academic style guides (such as MLA or APA). 3. Perform close readings of selected texts to identify key metaphors and narrative structures used to describe the "illness experience." 4. Provide critical feedback and proofreading for article drafts to enhance clarity and academic rigor. Learning Outcomes: 1. Gain direct experience in the lifecycle of academic publishing, from initial literature survey to final manuscript submission. 2. Develop a sophisticated understanding of how the humanities can inform and improve medical ethics and patient communication. 3. Gain ability to synthesize complex theoretical frameworks (like Postcolonialism or Disability Studies) with primary literary texts. 4. Refine the ability to produce high-level academic prose suitable for international literature journals.
