About Internship

Assistant Professor from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur (VNIT Nagpur), is accepting interns interested in the field of Chemistry, in the research area of Organic chemistry.

This internship focuses on advanced research in organic synthesis, with an emphasis on the catalytic utilization of carbon dioxide, the synthesis of heterocyclic ring systems, and the development of small-molecule drug candidates. The project introduces interns to sustainable and contemporary approaches in organic chemistry that address both environmental and pharmaceutical challenges. During the internship, students will: 1. Study catalytic strategies for carbon dioxide fixation and incorporation into organic molecules. 2. Synthesize and characterize heterocyclic compounds using established and novel organic reaction methodologies. 3. Participate in the design and development of small-molecule drug candidates based on heterocyclic frameworks. 4. Conduct literature reviews to understand current advancements in CO? utilization and medicinal organic chemistry. 5. Assist in reaction optimization, purification, and basic analytical interpretation under the guidance of the Principal Investigator. 6. Maintain proper laboratory records and contribute to research documentation and reporting. By the end of the internship, students will gain: 1. Hands-on exposure to sustainable organic synthesis and catalytic reaction systems. 2. Practical experience in heterocyclic chemistry and early-stage drug discovery concepts. 3. Improved understanding of environmentally responsible chemical processes and modern synthetic strategies. 4. Experience in scientific documentation, data interpretation, and research communication.
