This full-time PhD opportunity focuses on marine biotechnology, marine microbiology, and medical biochemistry, with research centered on marine endophytes and their bioactive secondary metabolites, and their applications in pharmaceutical biotechnology and environmental remediation. The doctoral research encompasses the isolation, cultivation, and molecular identification of marine endophytes; natural product extraction and characterization; evaluation of bioactive metabolites; myconanoremediation; and fungal-mediated microplastic remediation. The research involves aseptic microbial techniques, enzymatic assays, 16S/ITS/18S rRNA-based identification, bioinformatics, FTIR, HPLC, SEM, nanoparticle characterization, and analysis of microplastic degradation, supported by systematic literature review, scientific data interpretation, manuscript preparation, and research documentation. The opportunity is suited to Master's-level candidates with relevant laboratory experience in microbial culturing, preferably marine or fungal microbiology, natural product extraction, biochemical techniques, and scientific research.
