About Internship

Assistant Professor from Parul University, Waghodia, is accepting interns interested in the field of Mechanical Engineering, in the research area of Alternative Fuels and Pollution Control.

Interns will participate in an experimental study aimed at improving diesel engine performance and reducing emissions by integrating Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) and Variable Compression Ratio (VCR) systems. The project investigates how variations in combustion temperature and oxygen concentration affect NOx formation, a key factor in diesel emissions. Using a single-cylinder direct-injection diesel engine operating at 1500 rpm under varying loads, Interns will analyze the influence of different compression ratios (16:1, 17:1, and 18:1) and EGR levels (0%, 5%, and 10%) on performance parameters such as brake thermal efficiency, specific fuel consumption, combustion characteristics, and exhaust composition. The internship offers hands-on exposure to engine testing, emissions measurement, and data interpretation, helping Interns understand the trade-offs between efficiency and pollution control.
