Adjunct Assistant Professor from Soochow University, Taipei, Taiwan, is accepting interns interested in the field of Physics, in the research area of Condensed Matter Physics .
We invite motivated students to join our investigation into the magnetic behavior of two-dimensional van der Waals materials, focusing on Fe2GaTe3, at room temperature. This project explores how magnetic properties evolve under field cooling, first using a direct current (DC) and subsequently an alternating current (AC). Our goal is to understand the interplay between current-induced cooling protocols and magnetic ordering in layered materials with potential spintronic applications. Experimental measurements will be complemented by micromagnetic simulations using MuMax3. Students will assist in developing and refining simulation scripts to replicate observed magnetization trends, including hysteresis loops, domain evolution, and anisotropy effects. Matching simulation outputs with experimental data is critical for validating our models and uncovering underlying physical mechanisms. Ideal candidates should have a strong foundation in condensed matter physics or materials science, and familiarity with scripting (Python, MuMax3) and data visualization tools (e.g., Gnuplot). Prior experience with magnetic measurements or simulation environments is a plus but not required- curiosity, persistence, and a collaborative mindset are essential. This project offers hands-on experience in experimental design, simulation workflows, and data interpretation. Students will contribute to a growing body of knowledge in low-dimensional magnetism and gain exposure for communicating scientific results across diverse audiences.
