This internship focuses on maternal and child health, a critical area of public health concerned with improving health outcomes for mothers and infants across different stages of pregnancy, childbirth, and the postnatal period. Strong research design and effective scientific communication play a key role in shaping maternal health policies, programs, and interventions. Through this internship, interns will gain hands-on experience in public health research, study design, and scientific writing related to maternal health. During the internship, interns will: 1. Assist in developing research questions and conceptual frameworks related to maternal and child health. 2. Contribute to the design of study tools, data collection instruments, and basic analytical algorithms used in public health research. 3. Support the preparation of research proposals, manuscripts, policy briefs, and scientific communication materials. 4. Participate in literature reviews to identify research gaps and current evidence in maternal health. 5. Assist in organizing research documentation, references, and ethical compliance materials. 6. Engage in regular discussions with the research supervisor to refine study designs and written outputs. By the end of the internship, interns will gain: 1. A solid understanding of maternal and child health research principles within public health. 2. Practical experience in scientific writing, including proposal development, manuscript preparation, and science communication. 3. Exposure to research design, tool development, and formulation of research questions. 4. Enhanced analytical thinking, academic writing, and documentation skills relevant to public health careers. 5. Experience working on structured research projects that may support future academic or professional pathways.
