About Internship

Course Coordinator ( Former ) from Vels Institute of Science, Technology & Advanced Studies (VISTAS), Chennai, is accepting candidates interested in the field of Environmental Science, in the research area of Geology.

Candidates will conduct literature reviews and research on the relationship between geological, hydrological, and seismic processes. They will study how groundwater movement, pore pressure, rainfall, geological structures, and hydrological changes may influence or correlate with seismic activity. Candidates will assist in collecting, organizing, and interpreting geological, hydrological, and seismic data under faculty guidance. They will analyze relevant research papers and case studies, identify research gaps, and critically evaluate existing findings and methodologies. Candidates will prepare research summaries, data visualizations, presentations, and academic reports based on their findings. They will also participate in research discussions and contribute to developing research questions and potential approaches for further investigation. The internship will help candidates develop skills in research methodology, scientific literature review, interdisciplinary Earth-science research, data analysis, critical thinking, and academic writing.
