Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science Engineering, from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IIT Roorkee), is accepting interns interested in the field of Computer Science Engineering, in the research area of Internet of Things.
This internship offers students a hands-on opportunity to work at the cutting edge of Edge AI, combining hardware development, embedded systems, and machine learning. The project focuses on deploying TinyML (Tiny Machine Learning) applications on RISC-V-based microcontrollers to enable intelligent decision-making directly at the edge. Interns will begin by working with hardware components to set up an IoT-based system, integrating sensors and peripherals. They will then deploy lightweight ML models on the system using TinyML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow Lite for Microcontrollers). The final phase involves analyzing and optimizing the microcontroller architecture, specifically a RISC-V-based design, to better accommodate and accelerate the selected ML workloads.
