About Internship

Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, from Bearys Institute of Technology, Mangaluru (BIT Mangalore), is accepting interns interested in the field of Mechanical Engineering, in the research area of Manufacturing and Materials .

Interns will have the opportunity to work closely with the R&D team in the development of magnesium-based alloys tailored for the automotive industry. They will be involved in a wide range of activities, including alloy formulation, material characterization, and mechanical testing. This hands-on experience will give insights into the material science behind lightweight automotive components and prepare interns for a career in materials engineering. Key Responsibilities: Alloy Development: Assist in the formulation of magnesium-based alloys with desired properties, including strength, weight reduction, and corrosion resistance. Material Characterization: Conduct detailed analyses using advanced techniques such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and spectroscopy to study the microstructure and properties of the alloys. Mechanical Testing: Perform mechanical testing such as tensile, hardness, and fatigue tests to evaluate the alloys’ suitability for automobiles.
