Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, from Indian Institute of Information Technology Design & Manufacturing, Kancheepuram (IITDM Kancheepuram), is accepting interns interested in the field of Mechanical Engineering, in the research area of Computational Mechanics .

This internship offers candidates an opportunity to gain hands-on research experience in multiscale modelling of nickel-based superalloys, a critical area in high-temperature structural applications. Interns will contribute to the development and implementation of computational models by working with advanced tools such as FEniCS, DAMASK, and Abaqus to simulate crystal plasticity and creep-fatigue interactions. They will also learn to integrate experimental microstructural data—such as EBSD measurements, grain size, and crystallographic orientations—into computational frameworks for realistic modelling. Interns will actively participate in model validation through comparison with published results or laboratory-generated test data, ensuring scientific rigor. In addition, they will engage in documentation, report writing, and collaborative discussions, with the potential to contribute to research publications.
