About Internship

Assistant Professor from Dr. Subhash University, India, is accepting interns interested in the field of Physics, in the research area of Computational Physics .

This internship provides an opportunity for students to explore computational condensed matter physics through the study of tantalum (Ta)-based Heusler alloys—an important class of materials known for their tunable electronic, magnetic, and spintronic properties. Heusler alloys are widely studied for applications in magnetic sensors, spintronic devices, energy materials, and quantum technologies. The internship focuses on understanding their electronic structure and magnetic behavior using modern computational physics tools. During the internship, students will: 1. Perform Density Functional Theory (DFT) simulations to study the electronic band structure, density of states (DOS), and magnetic configurations of Ta-based Heusler compounds. 2. Analyze simulation outputs to interpret magnetic moments, structural stability, electronic transitions, and potential functional applications. 3. Conduct literature reviews on Heusler alloys, computational methods, and recent research trends. 4. Document findings through figures, tables, plots, and structured summaries. 5. Contribute to drafting scientific reports or research manuscripts under the guidance of the supervising faculty. 6. Participate in weekly review meetings to discuss results, troubleshoot computational issues, and refine methodologies. By the end of the internship, interns will gain: 1. Practical experience in first-principles simulations using DFT-based tools 2. Strong analytical skills in interpreting electronic structure and magnetic properties of materials. 3. Research experience suitable for future work in materials science, condensed matter physics, spintronics, computational physics, and quantum materials. 4. Improved scientific writing and presentation skills, with potential opportunities for co-authorship depending on contribution and performance.
