Assistant Professor, Department of Tamil, from University of Madras, Chennai, is accepting interns interested in the field of Education, in the research area of Digital Language Education.
This internship focuses on the integration of classical Tamil literature, spiritual philosophy, and modern pedagogical practices. The primary objective is to research, develop, and deliver academic and digital content rooted in traditional Tamil texts—particularly the Thirumandiram and core principles of Saiva Siddhantam. Interns will engage in in-depth textual analysis, comparative studies of ancient and contemporary interpretations, and the synthesis of spiritual and scientific thought embedded in Tamil scriptures. A key component includes designing learner-friendly modules and digital learning resources for school and college students. Interns will contribute to curriculum planning, content scripting, and video production aligned with educational outcomes. Emphasis will be placed on making complex literary and philosophical ideas accessible to a wider audience, especially through platforms like YouTube and online courses. Interns will also gain experience in academic publishing, including citation practices, manuscript preparation, and peer-reviewed writing. The program encourages interdisciplinary exploration, including language pedagogy, digital humanities, and the cultural relevance of Tamil in today’s global context.
