The Land Use and Land Cover Classification Research Internship provides hands-on research experience in applying advanced geospatial technologies and AI techniques for environmental analysis. Interns will work with satellite imagery, Remote Sensing data, and GIS tools to classify land use and land cover, develop spatial datasets, and support research in environmental monitoring, urban planning, and sustainable land management. The role involves processing and analyzing satellite imagery, performing satellite image processing, implementing machine learning and deep learning techniques for image classification, generating land cover maps, conducting spatial analysis and accuracy assessments, and interpreting geospatial data. Interns will gain practical experience using Python, Google Earth Engine, LiDAR data analysis, RGB image analysis, and hyperspectral data analysis, while contributing to research focused on environmental monitoring, urban planning, and sustainable resource management. The internship also provides opportunities to strengthen research methodology and research writing skills through active participation in ongoing research projects. This internship is ideal for undergraduate and postgraduate students from Remote Sensing, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Artificial Intelligence, Environmental Science, Computer Science, Geoinformatics, or related disciplines who possess an interest in or prior exposure to Remote Sensing, Python, Google Earth Engine, Satellite Image Processing, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, LiDAR Data Analysis, RGB Image Analysis, Hyperspectral Data Analysis, Spatial Analysis, Image Classification, and Research Writing.
