Assistant Professor from Indian Institute of Information Technology, Ranchi(IIIT Ranchi), is accepting interns interested in the field of Computer Science Engineering, in the research area of Artificial intelligence and Machine learning.

This research internship focuses on the critical challenge of automating the diagnosis of complex neurological disorders. The project centers on the Detection and Classification of Schizophrenia by leveraging multimodal data, specifically EEG (Electroencephalogram) and MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) biomarkers. Interns will explore advanced feature extraction techniques and deep learning architectures to identify subtle patterns in brain activity and structure that distinguish healthy controls from affected individuals. Roles and Responsibilities : 1. Assist in the preprocessing and normalization of high-dimensional EEG signal data and structural/functional MRI scans. 2. Identify and extract key neurobiological biomarkers, such as spectral power densities from EEG or gray matter volume changes from MRI. 3. Implement and train supervised learning models (e.g., CNNs, RNNs, or SVMs) to achieve high-accuracy classification of Schizophrenia. 4. Perform rigorous statistical validation to ensure model generalizability and minimize the risk of overfitting on medical datasets. 5. Conduct a survey of state-of-the-art methods in neuroimaging AI to bench-mark the project's experimental results. Assist in documenting experimental setups and results for inclusion in a formal research paper or conference submission. Learning Outcomes : 1. Gain hands-on experience applying deep learning to complex, real-world medical imaging and signal data. 2. Master specialized libraries for medical data and signal processing techniques.
