About Internship

Assistant Professor, Department of Crescent Global Outreach Mission Research & Development Center , from B. S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute Of Science And Technology, is accepting interns interested in the field of Metallurgical Engineering, in the research area of Ceramics and Glasses.

The selected intern will work on Glass and Ceramic Engineering with a focus on biomaterials. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on the design, synthesis, and characterization of advanced ceramic and glass materials intended for biomedical applications, including bone scaffolds, dental materials, bioactive glasses, and implantable devices. The intern will assist in the fabrication of bioactive glass and ceramic composites using various processing techniques such as sol-gel synthesis, tape casting, or 3D printing. They will participate in laboratory-scale experiments involving thermal treatment, phase analysis, and surface modification to optimize bio-functionality. Key responsibilities include preparing samples, conducting material characterization (XRD, SEM, FTIR, mechanical testing), and compiling experimental data for analysis. This position will provide hands-on experience in the intersection of materials science and biomedical engineering, with a strong emphasis on the structure–property–function relationship in bio-ceramics and bio-glasses. The intern will also collaborate with experienced researchers and engineers, gaining valuable insight into real-world R&D workflows and regulatory considerations for medical materials. Ideal candidates should be pursuing a degree in Materials Science, Ceramic Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field, with foundational knowledge in inorganic materials and an interest in biomaterials innovation. This internship is an excellent opportunity for students eager to explore the potential of glass and ceramics in healthcare technologies and contribute to cutting-edge materials research.
