About Internship

Associate Professor from Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, Visakhapatnam (GITM Visakhapatnam), is accepting interns interested in the field of Chemistry, in the research area of Pharmaceutical Chemistry .

This internship focuses on the emerging field of nano-enabled drug delivery, specifically the development of dual drug-loaded smart nanocarriers designed for brain cancer therapy. With the increasing need for targeted, non-invasive treatment routes, nose-to-brain delivery systems have gained significant importance due to their ability to bypass the blood–brain barrier. Interns will explore how nanotechnology, drug formulation, and pharmaceutical chemistry come together to create advanced therapeutic systems for neurological cancers. The duration of this internship is six months but it can be extended upto twelve months if required. During the internship, students will: 1. Conduct experimental laboratory work related to synthesizing and characterizing smart nanocarriers. 2. Assist in preparing dual-drug formulations and optimizing delivery mechanisms for nose-to-brain targeting. 3. Perform analytical tests to study particle size, stability, drug encapsulation efficiency, and release profiles. 4. Work closely under the guidance of the Principal Investigator (PI) for experimental planning and execution. 5. Support literature review, documentation, and research writing tasks required for scientific reporting. 6. Handle official tasks related to project documentation, data organization, and project progress reports. By the end of the internship, interns will gain: 1. Hands-on laboratory experience in pharmaceutical formulation and nanotechnology-based drug delivery. 2. A strong understanding of smart nanocarriers, dual-drug systems, and nose-to-brain delivery pathways. 3. Practical exposure to characterization techniques and experimental workflows used in pharmaceutical research. 4. Experience in scientific writing, documentation, and report preparation—essential skills for future research roles.
