About Internship

Assistant Professor, Department of Biomedical Laboratory Science and Management, from Vidyasagar University, Midnapore, is accepting interns interested in the field of Biology, in the research area of Microbiology.

The selected interns will have the opportunity to gain both theoretical knowledge and hands?on practical experience in the field of medical molecular microbiology, with a special focus on antimicrobial resistance, the One Health approach, and the study of antimicrobial compounds. As part of this program, interns will be introduced to advanced laboratory techniques used in molecular microbiology, including methods for isolating and characterizing pathogens, extracting and analyzing nucleic acids, and assessing the efficacy of antimicrobial agents. Throughout the internship, participants will understand the molecular mechanisms underlying antimicrobial resistance, investigate the role of environmental and clinical factors in its emergence, and explore potential strategies for discovering and evaluating new antimicrobial compounds. This experience is ideal for students who are passionate about medical microbiology and wish to contribute to addressing one of the biggest global health challenges of our time.
