About Internship

Assistant Professor from Indian Institute Of Information Technology, Dharwad (IIIT Dharwad), is accepting interns interested in the field of Computer Science Engineering, in the research area of Artificial intelligence and Machine learning.

This internship focuses on the application of Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques to the Sanskrit language, one of the world’s oldest and most structurally rich classical languages. With growing interest in digitizing and computationally analyzing ancient texts, this internship offers interns an opportunity to contribute to research at the intersection of artificial intelligence, linguistics, and heritage languages. During the internship, interns will: 1. Read, review, and summarize relevant research papers in NLP, computational linguistics, and Sanskrit language processing. 2. Work with Sanskrit text datasets to understand linguistic structure, grammar, and representations used in computational models. 3. Implement and run NLP algorithms such as text preprocessing, tokenization, embeddings, classification, or sequence models on Sanskrit datasets. 4. Analyze and interpret model outputs to evaluate performance and linguistic relevance. 5. Assist in documenting methods, results, and observations in a structured research format. 6. Participate in regular discussions with the research guide to refine approaches and improve analysis. By the end of the internship, interns will gain: 1. Practical experience in applying NLP techniques to low-resource and classical languages. 2. Exposure to research methods in AI, machine learning, and computational linguistics. 3. Improved skills in reading and synthesizing research literature. 4. Hands-on experience with NLP pipelines, model evaluation, and result analysis. 5. A foundational understanding of Sanskrit language structure from a computational perspective.
