This internship focuses on advanced research in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) and their evolving role in real-time data acquisition for modern Internet of Things (IoT) and industrial automation systems. WSNs are critical enablers of real-time monitoring, control, and decision-making across diverse environments, including industrial facilities, underwater and marine systems, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The internship explores how evolutionary algorithms, along with AI and machine learning techniques, can be used to optimize the performance, efficiency, and sustainability of these networks. During the internship, interns will work on designing and analyzing WSN architectures for real-time data transmission. Key activities include studying sensor node deployment strategies, optimizing the number and placement of sensor nodes, and improving data transmission rates using evolutionary and optimization-based routing algorithms. Interns will also explore energy-efficient communication protocols, including strategies for charging and managing rechargeable WSNs to enhance network lifetime. The internship further extends into the integration of machine learning and artificial intelligence with WSNs, enabling intelligent data processing, adaptive routing, and predictive network management. Applications will span industrial automation, IoT systems, underwater sensor networks, marine monitoring, and UAV-based sensing platforms. By the end of the internship, interns will gain a strong understanding of WSN design principles, evolutionary optimization techniques, and real-time IoT data systems. They will develop skills in algorithm design, performance analysis, and interdisciplinary research at the intersection of wireless networking, AI, and cyber-physical systems.
