Assistant Professor from ITM Vocational University , is accepting interns interested in the field of Civil Engineering, in the research area of Earthquake Engineering.
This internship focuses on understanding seismic hazards and their impact on the behavior of structures during an earthquake. Interns will explore how seismic forces affect both internal structural components and external architectural elements, and how these forces are transferred through the structure down to the foundation. Key responsibilities include: 1. Studying different types of seismic loads and their effects on buildings and infrastructure 2. Understanding how structural and non-structural components respond during earthquakes 3. Learning about load transfer mechanisms (e.g., base isolation, shear walls, damping systems) 4. Reviewing case studies of seismic failures and design best practices
